What information we collect
We only collect information that you choose to give us — through the quote request form, the contact form, or a WhatsApp/email/phone enquiry initiated from this site. This may include:
- Your name
- Your company name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your delivery location / city
- The products and quantities you select for a quote
- Anything you write in a message or requirement box
We do not ask for, and do not collect, payment card details or other financial account information anywhere on this website. We also do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
Why we collect it
We use the information above only to:
- Respond to your enquiry
- Prepare and send quotations
- Understand your delivery requirements and confirm availability
- Communicate with you as a prospective or existing customer about the enquiry you raised
We do not use this information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we will not add you to a marketing list without your consent.
Where it goes
Depending on how you contact us, your information may be stored in one or more of the following places:
- Our internal enquiry records / customer database
- Our email inbox, if your enquiry is emailed to us or forwarded there
- WhatsApp, if you choose to message us on WhatsApp
- Netlify's form-submission dashboard, which powers the "Request a quote" and "Contact" forms on this site and which our staff access to read and action enquiries
These service providers may process or store data outside India in the course of providing their service to us. We only share your information with people and services directly involved in responding to your enquiry — we do not sell or rent it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We retain enquiry and quotation records for as long as they remain useful to the business relationship — typically for the duration of any ongoing discussion or order, and afterwards for a reasonable period to handle follow-up questions, repeat orders, warranty or accounts queries, and to meet our own legal and tax record-keeping obligations. Information that is no longer needed for these purposes is deleted or anonymised.
Who may have access
Access to enquiry and customer information is limited to Shiv Trading India staff who need it to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotations, or fulfil an order, and to the service providers named above (Netlify, and, where you choose to use them, email and WhatsApp) strictly for operating those channels on our behalf. We do not permit any other third party to access this information.
What is stored in your browser
The list of products you add to a quote request is stored in your own browser's local storage so it is remembered while you browse. It stays on your device and is never sent to us until you actually submit the request form. Clearing your browser data clears it. This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- What personal information we hold about you
- To correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
- To delete your information, where we are not required to keep it for a legitimate business or legal reason
- To stop using your information for a particular purpose
